Built in the foothills of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains, Shadow Mountain Golf Club in Palm Desert provides golfers with one of the last walkable desert courses in the Coachella Valley. Shadow Mountain opened in 1958 and since then has offered golfers the chance to play a great Gene Sarazen design built to challenge but not punish golfers while playing in desert conditions. Shadow Mountain features well defined fairways dotted with close to 600 mature palm trees and greens heavily guarded by deep, pristine bunkers. Due to its location along the foothills, golfers playing Shadow Mountain Golf Club are protected from the desert winds that affect play at some of the other local courses, making for a friendlier round.
