Events & Weddings

Covered Wagons Ranch, just neighboring Palm Desert, CA offers to organize and host any event or special occasion from large weddings to intimate gathering. Our barn style saloon and dining room can seat up to 120 inside and 150 outside. We offer weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate groups, family reunions or any other special gatherings that can be celebrated on this eco-friendly desert, nature preserve. Each event can be custom created to your needs to ensure a memorable experience. You can also simply rent out the 1.5-acre ranch site for the day and we provide the basics! Q. Do we need to make advanced reservations?

Yes, advanced reservations are required. You can book here on this website or call our office for a reservation and any additional questions. We would love to speak with you!

Q. Cancellation Policy?

Tours cancelled 48 hours prior to scheduled departure shall receive a FULL REFUND! There is no refund for cancellations received within 48 hours of the scheduled tour departure or for not showing. If Covered Wagons cancels the tour due to rare, inclement weather, you may reschedule or request a full refund.

Q. Restrooms?

We have newly added, upgraded restrooms with flushable toilets for your enjoyment!

Q. How much walking or hiking is on the tour?

Walking and hiking on our tour is mostly through hard packed sand, but in some places the sand is soft. It’s is an easy area to walk around typically but it is optional, and you can remain in the wagon with no questions asked!

Q. Vegetarian Option?

With reservations pre arrival, you can order the vegetarian option du jour. You can also enjoy the sides of Cowboy BBQ Beans, Prairie Coleslaw, and fresh bread. Sorry, we cannot accommodate a gluten free or vegan menu. You are welcome to bring your own food and enjoy it with your group. We will supply silverware!

Q. Transportation

Plenty of parking is available for your cars or for a group coach. If you require a shuttle or coach pickup for your group, please call us. We are able to arrange transportation for an additional cost.

Q. Preparation

Covered Wagons is located 4 miles north from the Washington Street exit and the 10 freeway in Palm Desert. From this direction you will turn right, on to a maintained desert road up to camp. We have free parking on-site for cars and buses. For general dinner tours, wagons roll about 1.5 hours before the sunset. The tour returns to Camp just before or after sunset for dinner and entertainment. Payment is accepted online or on the day of the tour with advanced reservations. We accept all major credit cards or cash on sight.

Q. What to Bring

We recommend comfortable clothing for the weather. After the sun sets, the desert can get cooler. Please being an extra layer. We also suggest closed toed shoes vs sandals or high heels. Don’t forget your camera, you will have many photo opportunities and desert sunsets pictures that will last a lifetime!
