Two Old Black Guys Just Sitting
Around Talking
The West Coast premiere of “Two Old Black Guys Just Sitting
Around Talking” will take place at the Indian Wells Theater
at the Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus on Friday,
Feb. 17. The funny and poignant story of rivalry, friendship
and the journey of life revolves around two longtime acquaintances,
Abe and Henry, who, despite the fact that they can’t stand
each other, find themselves often sharing the same bench at
the neighborhood park. Bitter rivals who once jostled for the
love of the same woman, Abe and Henry are slowly coming to the
conclusion that their long lives are more intertwined than either
had ever imagined. Show times are Friday, Feb. 17,at 7 p.m.,
Saturday Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24,at 7
p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are

Cruise Night
Spa Resort Casino in dowtown Palm Springs at the corner of Amado
and Calle Encilla (held in the North Lot) / A fun, family event
and good time! We have on display over 150 classic cars, muscle
cars, hot rods, street rods, corvettes, customs, antiques, restored
and original collectable cars, for free viewing by the general
public. There are coloring and model car contests and slot car
racing for the kids and a hula hoop contest for those who dare.
There is a raffle, 50/50 drawing, trophy presentations, activities
for the whole family, as well as entertainment available at each
cruise night. Palm Springs Cruisin' Association Cruise Night is
held the first Saturday of every month from October through June.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Benefit Concert
The Center for Spiritual Living Palm Desert is pleased to announce
its participation in this years Walk to End Alzheimer’s
beginning with a benefit concert, “Remembering When Others
Can’t,” starring the incomparable Karen Drucker. Karen
Drucker has recorded 11 CDs of her original inspirational music
and has won numerous awards for her volunteer work for performing

Scaggs Tickets
 Morongo
Ballroom, Cabazon, CA / After first finding acclaim as a member
of the Steve Miller Band, singer/songwriter Boz Scaggs went on
to enjoy considerable solo success in the 1970s. His first commerical
breakthrough was in 1976 with Silk Degrees, which reached number
two on the album charts while spawning the Top Three single "Lowdown,"
as well as the smash "Lido Shuffle". 1977's Down Two
Then Left was also a success and 1980's Middle Man reached the
Top Ten on the strength of the singles "Breakdown Dead Ahead"
and "Jo Jo". Scaggs spent most of the 1980s in retirement,
but he resurfaced in 1988 with the album Other Roads, followed
three years later by a tour with Donald Fagen's Rock and Soul
Revue. The solo effort Some Change appeared in 1994, with Come
on Home and My Time: The Anthology (1969-1997) - both released
in 1997. The newly energized Scaggs spent the next few years consistantly
releasing new material, including Here's the Low Down, Fade into
Light, Dig, and a collection of standards called But Beautiful.
An expanded reissue of Silk Degrees and "Runnin' Blue"
(a recording of a 1974 performance) appeared in 2007, and Speak
Low saw him reinterpreting a number of jazz standards in 2008.

Cruise Night
Spa Resort Casino in dowtown Palm Springs at the corner of Amado

cars, hot rods, street rods, corvettes, customs, antiques, restored
and original collectable cars, for free viewing by the general
public. There are coloring and model car contests and slot car
racing for the kids and a hula hoop contest for those who dare.
There is a raffle, 50/50 drawing, trophy presentations, activities
for the whole family, as well as entertainment available at each
cruise night. Palm Springs Cruisin' Association Cruise Night is

El Paseo is a world-class shopping district that features over

Cruise Night
Spa Resort Casino in dowtown Palm Springs at the corner of Amado
and Calle Encilla (held in the North Lot) / A fun, family event
and good time! We have on display over 150 classic cars, muscle
cars, hot rods, street rods, corvettes, customs, antiques, restored
and original collectable cars, for free viewing by the general
public. There are coloring and model car contests and slot car
racing for the kids and a hula hoop contest for those who dare.
There is a raffle, 50/50 drawing, trophy presentations, activities
for the whole family, as well as entertainment available at each
cruise night. Palm Springs Cruisin' Association Cruise Night is
held the first Saturday of every month from October through June.
Time: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (show cars roll-in at 3 p.m.) Specators:
Free and $5 for vehicle entry for non-members. This event is open
