Royal Palms Hotel resident?

I am working with historical Farragut Naval Training Station company photos of each Navy boot camp graduating class. One of the recruits signed the back of a company photo as follows.

Harold Waif
Royal Palms Hotel
Palm Springs, CA

Not sure if it is of interest to anyone but it's company 1942 - 111. The photos are on display at Farragut State Park in Athol, Idaho (the location of the former training station). Sadly, there are over 100 men pictured and this photo does not have its corresponding roster so there is no way to know which is him.

You can reach the park office at 208-683-2425.

Royal Palms Hotel

My late mother in law's family were the first owners of the Royal Palms Hotel, and I was looking for some information regarding the history of this hotel - and also hoping to find some old photographs etc from the 1930s-60s, if possible.

Any idea where I might find this kind of info?

The Springs of Palm Springs Hotel & Spa = Royal Palms Hotel

Hello Robin!

The Royal Palms Hotel which was built in 1935, was one of the most popular downtown courtyard hotels of its time! Now this stylish boutique hotel which is situated peacefully in the heart of downtown Palm Springs is called The Springs of Palm Springs Hotel & Spa.
Recently restored by its new owners, this cozy property now shines as one of Palm Springs’ finest architectural renovations.

Give Bob a call at The Springs of Palm Springs - 760-327-5701 or 888-327-5701 - he'd love to hear more about your piece of memorabilia.

Also, see here for more information on this property:

Hope this helps!

Best wishes -

Hotel Royal Palms?

I recently found a piece of memorabilia from a "Hotel Royal Palms, Palm Springs, Calif." -- It says so on the piece.
Does anyone have any info as to where this hotel was, when it started, when it closed or anything else of interest?
Since California is abbreviated "Calif." instead of CA, I assume it's from before zip codes in the 1960s with the two letter state abbreviations.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has any pictures of the Hotel Royal Palms, that would be fantastic!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
All the best,
Robin Thorne
