Melissa Morgan Fine Art proud to present AFTER GLOW, a group exhibition for Lisa Bartleson, Pamela Beck, Shannon Belkin, Casper Brindle, Alex Couwenberg, Jimi Gleason, Shana Mabari, Carlos Ramirez, Steven Salzman, and Francisco Valverde; with special exhibition by TwinArt. Ethereal and atmospheric, geometric and analytic, After Glow presents a striking paradox to the viewer. There is no single defining aesthetic amongst the artists in this group exhibition, but instead a preoccupation with the viewer's perception and participation. The work ranges from paintings and archival digital prints in gradient shades and radiant neons, to mysterious glowing glass and resin sculptures. Each piece uniquely playing with light from within the work or directing the flow of natural light throughout creating a sensory phenomena. There is an embrace of psychology and technology that unite these artists in explorations of materiality and human perception throughout their distinct bodies of work. The Melissa Morgan Sculpture Garden will also be activated with a performance by Los Angeles rock band, The Long Shadows. Band members have played in some of the most important rock bands from the UK, US and Australia; LA Guns, Twenty Flight Rockers, Brutalists, Quire Boys, with members of Blondie, and Sex Pistols often in the mix. Blondie’s drummer Clem Burke is a founding member of The Long Shadows. Dance under the stars among monumental sculpture to this group of high caliber, high energy, seasoned players. Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs. Music will start at 6pm.
