Department of Motor Vehicles

New residents who come from out of state need to register vehicles in California within 20 days. Take your most recently issued registration, smog certificate and purchase information to the nearest DMV office listed below. The fee is based on the value of the vehicle. California residents who drive motor vehicles on public highways must have a valid California driver's license.
