What about fireworks in Indio?

Unfortunatly Indio had to cancel plans for fireworks this year. Your two options are going to be in Palm Springs (see above) and Palm Desert - see below:

Palm Desert Celebrates Independence Day
The City of Palm Desert salutes America’s birthday with a free Independence Day celebration featuring fireworks, and fun at Civic Center Park (Fred Waring Dr. & San Pablo Ave.) The festivities begin on a patriotic note at 7:15 p.m. with the National Anthem followed at 7:30 p.m. by the Side Street Strutters, who will delight listeners with their uniquely fun brand of Dixieland jazz as the sun sets behind the majestic San Jacinto Mountains. The nighttime sky will light up again at 9 p.m. with a spectacular 20-minute-long fireworks display accompanied by synchronized patriotic and American contemporary music on The Mix 100.5 radio station. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic dinners, blankets, and chairs to enjoy the show. Drinks and snacks will also be available for purchase. Alcoholic beverages, smoking, and portable barbeques are prohibited. Private fireworks are illegal in Civic Center Park and throughout the City of Palm Desert. Flashlights are recommended for safety exiting the park. For convenient parking, free air-conditioned shuttle service begins at 6 p.m. and runs throughout the evening from the Gardens on El Paseo (San Pablo side, lower level) to the festivities.
