I've heard that a Hard Rock Hotel is coming to Palm Springs. When and where will it be built?

As far as when The Hard Rock will come to Palm Springs, Trevor Horwell, chief hotels officer for Hard Rock International, has been quoted as saying. “I think maybe two and a half 2 years...”
Plans call for three buildings ranging from two to five stories on the 10-acre Prairie Schooner parcel, bordered by Tahquitz Canyon Way, Calle El Segundo, Andreas Road and Calle Alvarado.

The last I heard is that Hard Rock Hotel is still trying to finalize plans with the city of Palm Springs. I know they want to build by the Palm Springs Convention Center - Tahquitz & Eldorado Drive area over by the Hilton and Wyndham Hotel. Other buzz I have heard is that Brad Pitt is looking to build a multi-million dollar resort in the area! Of course, there's nothing confirming this...yet!

Hey Guys,
My name is Todd. I'm a sales agent for the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs. I'm the first person on the ground. The rest of the team will be showing up in December / Janaury.
Someone was asking about timing. The project is going to sale in early spring, and typically, it takes about 18-24 months after sale for the project to be completed and fully operational. So, that puts it around 2010.

Is the property actually extending to Tahquitz, or is it just going where the parking lot is now?

Hello Todd,
I've read that a certain community organization is opposing some of the hotel building designs and as a result, has the delayed the construction of the project. Do you know if this is accurate?

Nexus Companies, which is developing the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs and has potentially scrapped plans for The Delano, is working on plans for additional hotels in downtown Palm Springs. A 10-acre parcel at Tahquitz Canyon Way and Hermosa Drive, near the Courtyard by Marriott hotel could potentially be home to two hotels, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet said. Last summer, Nexus submitted plans at City Hall for a 500-room, 9-story hotel there, but Pougnet said they are now working on plans for two hotels that would share a parking lot and be three to four stories high.

Hello Palm Springs Fans, I was reading that they are still planning on building the Hard Rock, they have to change the plan on having the 3 resturants. As for the Hard Rock Hotel, it isn't going to be like the one in Las Vegas, it will be mostly condo's, which we DO NOT need more of. So that is the update on the Rock & PS.. Enjoy your 2008 Summer.

The developer of a roughly 100-foot-tall Hard Rock Hotel proposed for the convention center area is holding an informational meeting. It takes place at the convention center ballroom from 5:30 to 7 p.m..
The Nexus Cos., based in Santa Ana, hopes to build the nearly 500-room luxury hotel on about 10 acres on Tahquitz Canyon Way between Calle El Segundo and Calle Alvarado.
The city's Architectural Advisory Committee voted to support the project last month. The hotel, which would include two signature restaurants, a luxury spa, nightclub and 32,000 square feet in banquet and meeting space, is slated to go before the Planning Commission Sept. 12. Nexus hopes to complete the hotel in 2010
