You’ve heard of Modernism Week. You’ve probably even attended a grand event or two. But did you know that this annual festival also gives back on a grand scale? Modernism Week recently announced that it contributed significant funds to local Coachella Valley neighborhood organizations, local and statewide preservation organizations, and awarded two new scholarships for aspiring architectural students.

Comic Con Comes to Palm Springs This August!

COMIC CON PALM SPRINGS brings the very first comic con to the desert. The three days of festivities arrives in August, featuring signature events, special guests, and an unparalleled list of artists. PalmSprings.com Spotlight: An Interview with Executive Director of Tribal Administration, Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, and Athena Award Winner, Betty Callies

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Betty Callies moved to Northern California in the early 1980s. She worked in the Bankcard Industry then became a Certified Court Reporter in San Francisco specializing in pre-trial litigation. In 2007, Betty was hired as the in-house court reporter for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians in Palm Springs. In 2008, she became Director of Tribal Administration.
